The provision of a Civil and Structural design for a 33kV Switchroom building with Integral cable basement. Including
A survey of existing cable routes was available but a Site Investigation was required
Civil and Structural design was based on the best functional and economic design to meet current SSE specifications.
Due to the complex and numerous existing cable routes within the existing Substation, Kelvin undertook a cable route plan to identify, at the design stage, proposed new cable routes and termination points. This not only allows for an ordered approach to the cable laying and jointing but also provided the civil contractor with a comprehensive scope of works required.
Design is complete and Civil works are starting.
All parties reported positive feedback on both the quality of drawings and visibility of the scope of works.
