We deliver a comprehensive substation package. Our in-house expertise includes land surveyors, civil, structural and electrical engineers, 3D modelling, quantity surveyors and project managers.
Services
Our principal areas of business are substations, onshore connections, cable studies and transmission lines. We provide project development services including the negotiation and delivery of legal agreements and easements/wayleaves required for energy projects. We deal with the management and discharge of all planning conditions. Finally, we provide the design and supply of steel and aluminium structures for substations and the design of transmission lines. Our structures range from simple support structures to complex platforms and cable bridges.
HV Cabling
We have experience in both substation cabling and off site cable route. This work stream complements the Layouts department where their experience of substation layouts being utilised to provide designs for onshore connections and cabling associated with substation reconfiguration.
Power Project Services
We can provide detailed engineering consultancy services. Some examples of recent work include preparing a detailed site selection matrix for 6 substation sites and cable crossing design work required for crossing third party assets on a cable route.
Substation Structures
We design and supply substation and overhead line structures. Our state of the art design and manufacturing software enables us to offer cost effective solutions for a wide range of substation projects both in the UK and overseas.
Overhead Line Design
We can offer the complete OHL package. Kelvin Power Structures have undertaken work for a number of DNOs and can provide services on a wide range of projects from a single substation connection several kilometres of OHL
